I'm at school listening to the radio and they are playing "American Girl."

Memories of making this into a AmeriCorps song are runnning through my head.

"She was an AmeriCorps girl"
"And the brochure promised her..."

I forget what the rest was.

"It was kind of cold outside.
"She could hear the tents blowing away."

"Oh yeah"
"Oh right.
"Thirteen dollars a day...that's our pay allright.
We are
AmeriCorps girls."

There's something in there about digging trail and farting in the van, but it's been FIVE WHOLE YEARS!!!

That's still the coolest thing I've ever done.

Okay, paperflowers, it's followed up by Fleetwood mac. What is this, the Red 2 nostalgia special? All we need is that Shania Twain song that Rachel liked.

heh.
It went "I can feel you breathe, washing over me..."
But we got sick of it, so it become "I can feel you pee, washing over me.."

Oh yeah. We were mature.
I miss that. I'll never be part of something that _good_ again, unless I really committ to volunteering for the Red Cross, and I haven't been able to do that.

And despite all of its problems and dysfunctions, I truly believe that what we did was good.
bobamster... *sniff* Do you still have random "miss my team moments"?
